Class 11. Monday 23/03. End of Trimester II

Hello

Today it was our last class in this trimester. To celebrate it we organised a Flea Market, a very funny and exciting activity. We decided to raise money for the charity organisation Design for Change or use it for our projects.

You brought lots of different things - second-hand books, toys, hand-made jewelery, home-made food and drinks. Wow! Great! You were real shop assistants and cashiers!

In the end, we earned 30,65 euros! Wow! So, we chose a money keeper (a person who´ll keep our money safely and will be responsible for it). This person is Silvia.

So, our plans are to use this money for our project - we decided to buy some plants and flowers (or to use the branches) and plant them. Next trimester we´ll trun to action!

Class 10. Monday 16/03

Hello

Today we´ve revised all the topics we learnt these two trimesters and wrote a small assessment test. Don´t worry the results will go to your Olympic Games!

We checked some vocabulary and revised our grammar - Past Simple "to be".
Also we made up some stories using Present Cont.:
It´s raining. Children are eating ice-cream. They´re watching TV etc.

This class for the extra task you´ve got the following points:

We also discussed our project and the plans. 
Day 6. Making plans and a step-by-step action plan.

So, we decided to plant some flowers and plants in the places where there´s not enough vegetation in our opinion.
Your task is: investigate what places/streets/parks in the town need more vegetation, take photos, walk there and pay attention. And where shall we get money for the flowers and plants.

Extra task: do the exercises online to revise Present Simple and Present Cont. - do only the last four exercises (Positive sentences, Negative sentences, Questions and Text - 2 points for each).
English Test

Next week is our last class. We´ll get our Olympic Games results and evaluations. Also we need to choose the best blog story, so DON´T FORGET TO VOTE for the story you liked (if the story is not in the blog, like Clara´s, you may just vote from the memory).

Trip to New York with Blaze

TRIP TO NEW YORK WITH BLAZE

Last week Blaze and me were in New York

On Monday we went to the airport to catch a flight

In the afternoon we checked in a hotel in this street

On Tuesday we went to visit Statue of Liberty and we catched a ferry to go to Manhattan

In Manhattan there are a lot of beautiful skyscrapers like the Empire State.

On Wednesday we visited Ground Cero, where the Twin Towers were.

On Thursday we walked through Central Park. It's really a very large park in the middle of the city.

On Friday night we did a tour and enjoyed a lot the city lights.

Blaze and me loved the trip to New York because it´s an amazing city and we bought a souvenir , a snowball of the city!!!

Class 9. Monday 9/03

Hello

Today we revised our Past Simple tense with the verb "to be":

Where was David at 6 a.m? - He was in his bed.
Where was he at 16 o´clock? - He was in the swimming pool.
Where were you yesterday? - I was in the park yetserday.

We also talked about the weather in the world yesterday:

What was the weather like in London yesterday? - It was sunny.
What was the weather like in Rio yesterday? - It was windy etc.

We even made our own world weather map!

We also continued with our project.

Day 5. Brainstorming the ideas to solve the problem - What could we do?

We brainstormed the ideas about our problem. And we had a lot of them! At home think more about our problem, maybe you´ll get some more brilliant ideas!

Information! Last class before vacations (23/03) we´re organising a Flea Market. Bring things you´d like to sell (second hand things, cooked food, hand-made decorations etc.) The money we´ll raise will go to the charity organisation. Everybody is invited (parents, friends, students etc.)

Class 8. Monday 02/03

Hello

Today we practised our new grammar - Past Simple (the verb "to be"):

I was at the cinema yesterday? My mother was at home in the evening.
My friends were very happy etc.

We learnt some time expressions for our past tense (yesterday, last week (Saturday, winter, weekend), on Sunday evening, in 1998 etc.):

Where were you yesterday morning? - I was at home.



We also continued with our project.

Day 4 - Choosing a problem
So, you chose two problems that are important for you, then we discussed why it´s important. Finally, we voted for the most important for the majority.

Our topic is: There is not enough vegetation in the streets.

Our next step is to investigate the problem and think about solutions. We have to think about:
What are the reasons of the porblem?
What are the consequences and who is affected? 

While investigating you can take an interview, draw a picture, take photos or make videos!

Class 7. Monday 23/02

Hello

Today we revised some vocabulary on our topic "Weather". Some of them are synonyms of the words we already know:
overcast - cloudy - dull
chilly - cool - crisp - brisk
bright - sunny
breezy - windy

Also we listened to people talking about the weather:
Today in the morning it was sunny, but now it is rainy.

We learnt Past Simple of the verb "to be":

Also we made a new step of our project. We had to finish our clouds and choose two porblems that are the most important for us:

I love to go to Portugal.

On Monday, I make the bag to go to Portugal with Blaze.

 On Tuesday, we´re going to Portugal in to the car.

On Wednesday, we make sore to Faro Hotel in Portugal.

On Thursday we´re goint to the

 Nacional Park Pereda- Geres.

On Friday , we´re going to visit the Palace of the Peña,  ate a typical food and listening a typical music. 





More later, we´re going to visit  Oceanario the second more big of the Europe and the Belem Tower.

On Saturday , Blaze and me to turn to Leganes with a new friend 

and go to bed.

 



We have been a fantastic adventure in  Portugal.
